Linear Tape-Open (LTO) is a tape storage technology collaboratively developed by HP, IBM and Seagate Technology.
LTO-1 is the first tape format published by the Linear Tape-Open Consortium in 2000.
It offers a native capacity of 100 GB (200 GB compressed) and a native transfer rate of 20 MB (40 compressed) per second.
